The latest episode of The Kardashians on Hulu showcased the escalating feud between Kourtney Kardashian and her sister Kim Kardashian.

The source of contention arose when Kim created the 'Ciao, Kim' collection in collaboration with Dolce and Gabbana, a designer label that Kourtney and her husband, Travis Barker, had previously worked with for their wedding. To make matters worse, their matriarch Kris Jenner referred to Kim as the leader of the family during a speech at her birthday dinner.

During Kris's heartfelt address, she expressed her admiration for Kim, lauding her as the strongest woman in the world and the family's rockstar. Kris declared Kim to be the leader they all turn to, evoking Kourtney's skepticism. In a confessional, the eldest sibling made it clear that she would never be a follower in a cult led by her sister, emphasizing that she did not subscribe to such notions.
Interestingly, even Kim herself disagreed with her mother's assertion, playfully telling Kris that she did not have the time or inclination to take on leadership duties. Kim laughed in a confessional, expressing her love and honor for Kris while stating that she was not ready for the baton to be passed. She jokingly suggested that Kris needed at least five more years before such a transition could occur.

Previous episodes had seen Kourtney accuse Kim of "copying" the style of her opulent Italian wedding, which was hosted by Dolce and Gabbana. Kourtney shared her frustration with her sister Kendall Jenner, mentioning that Kim was in Milan, fully immersed in her 'Kim/Dolce and Gabbana, Ciao, Kim' venture, while living the dolce vita. Kourtney, who wore a white Dolce and Gabbana corset dress and a custom lace veil for her Portofino nuptials in May 2022, insisted that her decision to collaborate with the designers for her wedding attire was not driven by business. She stressed that it held a deeply personal significance for her.

Kourtney further expressed her disappointment, claiming that Kim always had an abundance of partnership opportunities but that the Dolce deal seemed to take precedence over considering her feelings. Kourtney had taken references from Dolce and Gabbana's 1990s archives for her wedding outfits, and she believed that Kim had done the same for her collection.
