While she acknowledges the ongoing connection between herself and Kanye due to their kids, Kim confesses that she tries not to display too much emotion when she's upset about him. In a translated interview with Vogue Italia, Kim explained, "If there's something concerning my kids' dad and I'm upset, I try not to show as much emotion. I have to be ready to explain why I'm upset, and it might not be appropriate for them to know. There's nothing worse than 'You'll understand when you're older.' I don't want to be that person."

However, Kim clarified that she doesn't hide her emotions completely and does allow herself to express sadness or cry in front of her children if it's related to something they can comprehend. She shared an example from Christmas morning when she received a dollhouse from her mother and became emotional. Kim explained to her children why she was crying, relating it to a childhood memory she had with her dad.

Kim attributes her ability to control her emotions to her late father, Robert Kardashian, whom she considers her role model. She recalls observing how he handled specific cases and learned from him the importance of grace, remaining calm, and being collected. She described his approach as a process, engaging in conversations even when he was upset. In contrast, Kim amusingly recalls her mother, Kris Jenner, struggling to get their names right when she was angry, yelling out a mix of their names in frustration.
