North West, the nine-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, was spotted leaving her basketball game with her mother in Thousand Oaks, California.

In photos obtained by The U.S. Sun, North appeared to be upset and crying, while Kim struggled to control her emotions. As they walked out of the arena holding hands, North grew upset over something, and the Kardashian star did little to control it. Kim was photographed putting up her hand over her daughter's mouth and face in an attempt to hide her emotions.

Kim Kardashian, who is also a mother to three other children, was recently divorced from Kanye West in November 2022 after nearly seven years of marriage. Kanye was also present at the game, but he did not stay for long and seemed to be doing his best to avoid running into his ex-wife. Kim, on the other hand, stayed the entire time and looked stunning according to fans in a white tank top and baggy blue and red track pants. She was photographed enjoying the game while sitting alone in the stands, looking at peace.

Kim's parenting skills have often been criticized by fans, who believe she portrays an unrealistic image of parenting at public outings and on social media. Last Sunday, the reality star posted snaps of North wearing a Dolce & Gabbana diamond choker and T-shirt on Instagram. The preteen looked serious as she ate nachos and drank a red drink at a restaurant. Fans noticed that her chin looked distorted and uneven in the first photo and speculated that Kim had edited North's face shape. Some commented that they felt "distraught" thinking about the impact it could have on North's self-esteem when she's older.

This isn't the first time Kim has been criticized for her parenting choices. Last month, she was blasted by critics for putting a makeup filter over a clip of her and North hugging and kissing. The preteen appeared to have huge fake lashes thanks to the editing on the clip, and some claimed the filter could be "damaging" to North's "self-esteem" given her impressionable age.

While it's natural for parents to make mistakes, especially in the public eye, it's important to consider the potential impact of our actions on our children's self-esteem and mental health. Children are impressionable and may take cues from their parents' behavior, whether intentional or not. As parents, it's our responsibility to be mindful of our actions and to model healthy behaviors and attitudes for our children.

The photos of North West crying and Kim Kardashian struggling to control her emotions at the basketball game have sparked criticism of Kim's parenting skills. Fans have expressed concern over the impact that Kim's behavior and social media posts may have on North's self-esteem and mental health. As parents, it's important to be mindful of our actions and the messages we're sending to our children, both intentionally and unintentionally.
