Kim Kardashian, the reality TV star and founder of SKIMS, is set to attend the Met Gala once again this May, despite previous reports suggesting that she was no longer on the list curated by Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
Kim has been a staple at the Met Gala for the past decade and first made her appearance at the event in 2013 with her ex-husband, Kanye West. At the time, Kim was visibly pregnant with her daughter North, who is now nine years old. Over the years, Kim has become known for her daring and memorable looks at the Met Gala. In 2019, she wore a "wet" dress by Thierry Mugler that made headlines, and in 2022, she caused a stir when she arrived in Marilyn Monroe’s iconic "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" dress, designed by Bob Mackie.

The historical item from 1962 was on loan to Kim for one night only and no alterations were permitted, which meant that Kim had to adhere to a strict diet and exercise plan to drop weight ahead of the big day. Despite the challenges, Kim was extremely respectful of the dress and what it meant to American history. She said that she would never want to sit in it, eat in it, or have any risk of damaging it.

In an interview with Vogue, Kim revealed that she thought the dress would most likely fit her before realizing that Marilyn wasn't as curvy as her. She also explained her diet and exercise routine, which involved wearing a sauna suit twice a day, running on a treadmill, cutting out all sugar and carbs, and eating only the cleanest veggies and protein. She emphasized that she didn't starve herself but was very strict.
