Kourtney Kardashian has revealed how she contracted COVID-19 following a six-hour makeout session with her husband, Travis Barker.

The 45-year-old Kardashians star learned she tested positive for the virus on the morning of her baby shower. She described how she caught the bug after a lengthy kissing session with her husband. "The first part of Travis' European tour is over, and he flies home and we test him for COVID because he wants to test.

He's negative," Kourtney explained on the season five premiere of The Kardashians. "We make out for six hours, and then I feel he is hot. Like, his head feels very warm. Not a making-out type of warm, like a really warm. And then he tests positive for COVID." The positive test prompted Kourtney to distance herself in the guest bedroom, but it was too late. "That first six hours of making out, I got COVID," she explained.

On the morning of her baby shower, Kourtney revealed her COVID-19 diagnosis to her mother, Kris Jenner, via a phone call. The news brought Kris to tears since she thought Kourtney wouldn't get to see her elegant Disney-themed bridal shower. She also shared her concerns for Kourtney: "Travis has COVID. I’m shaking. I just want Kourtney to be okay. She’s a high-risk pregnancy," Kris said. "I don't know why I’m emotional. I just want her to be okay. I’m a little worried."

They struck a compromise, with the couple arriving in masks before the guests started filing in, but they ended up staying at a table separated from the rest, interacting with guests just a few at a time through social distancing. While the event was a success, Kris accidentally revealed the name of their son—Rocky—before it was publicly announced, which stunned Kourtney. Towards the end of the shower, Khloe clanged two metal domes together to announce a toast. "We all want to congratulate Kourtney and Travis for their beautiful, beautiful angel that's gonna be here in a couple of weeks now," Khloe said, to which Kourtney responded, "Let's hope for five."

"We are just so happy to be here and to see that your love flourish and that your love created real genuine love and a little angel that's coming soon, #13 for the family. Mom has been crying all day," Khloe continued, before telling Kris it's her turn. "You guys, we're just praying for a healthy and happy delivery. We cannot wait to meet baby Rocky," Kris said, surprising Kourtney and Travis since they hadn't revealed the name yet.

"I don't think you were supposed to say that," Khloe whispered, as Kris gasped and tried to recover while everyone laughed. "What I meant was it's gonna be a very rocky day," Kris said, as Kim added in a confessional, "Come on, mom. We've been hiding names and bumps and pregnancies and marriages and everything for years. And at grandchild 13, are you like losing it at this point? How do you let it slip? How do you say the name?"

Kim added, "If his name is Rocky, it's so fitting because he's such a fighter, and so are you guys, and we love you," as they all toasted to the couple and their first child. "Well, note to self, I'm not telling you any kids' names moving forward," Khloe told Kris, as Kourtney said, "This is so perfect, thank you mom, it's so thoughtful." Travis added, "Can you imagine if we didn't see all of this?" Kourtney replied, "It's exhausting, I'm like out of breath." "Are you?" she asked Travis, and he shook his head, as Kourtney added, "You're not growing a baby," to which Travis responded, "I wish I could do this for you," while rubbing her bump.

Kris added, "I think it all turned out after all at the happiest place on Earth. So you know there's always a happy ending. There might be a lot of drama, as usual, but at the end of the day, there's always a happy ending and it's always about family." Rocky Thirteen Barker—a name which Barker teased in a previous season—was born on November 1, 2023, in Los Angeles.
