Kim Kardashian helped her nephew Mason Disick, 14, surpass half a million Instagram followers by encouraging her fans to follow him.
On Tuesday, the 43-year-old reality star shared a screenshot of Mason's profile to her Instagram Story with a heartfelt message urging everyone to follow her sister Kourtney's eldest child. "I still can't believe Mason is on IG," she wrote, expressing amazement that Disick had joined the app, which requires users to be at least 13 years old. Before her post, Mason, the eldest child of Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick, already had 509,000 followers.

Eight hours after Kim's post, Mason's followers had surged to 644K. After Mason joined Instagram on Sunday, Kim quickly commented on his first post. "You're really on Instagram," she marveled, while her sister Khloe, 39, added, "I can't believe this is happening. I am sort of not ok. He's a real teenager. The one who names us KiKi and KoKo."
As of Tuesday, Mason has only three posts, featuring himself, his friends, and his siblings Penelope, 11, and Reign, 9. This isn't Mason's first Instagram profile; Kourtney, 45, and Scott, 40, previously made him delete his account in 2020 when he joined without their permission. His TikTok account was also disabled for violating their terms of service, as Mason was only 10 at the time.

Kourtney discussed the decision in a May 2021 interview with Miranda Kerr for Vogue Paris, emphasizing the permanence of online content and her concerns about social media's impact on her children's mental health. "Mason started some secret accounts during quarantine," she said. "Those were quickly shut down." Kourtney explained that while quarantine allowed for family bonding, it also made social interaction difficult for kids. She expressed hesitation about letting her kids on social media to protect their mental health, especially from mean comments.
When Mason's cousin North West, 10, got in trouble for going on TikTok Live without permission in December 2021, he sent mature advice to Kim about online safety. "Hi, I don't wanna disrespect North but I don't think she should do the Lives unless someone is with her because people are always screen recording and she might tell information that isn't correct and stuff like that," he wrote, recalling his own regret about oversharing during a Live session.
