North West donned a custom outfit from ERL clothing for her performances as Young Simba in The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl.
The 10-year-old, daughter of Kim Kardashian, 43, and Kanye West, 46, took the stage in Los Angeles for two concerts, performing "I Just Can't Wait to be King" and receiving a standing ovation.

North's yellow ensemble, featuring a furry hoodie, shorts, socks, and slippers, was not provided by the production. A spokesperson told People that neither North nor stars Jennifer Hudson and Jeremy Irons were dressed by the show's designer, Marina Toybina.
ERL clothing shared images of North's costume on Instagram, captioning the post, "Costume design for North in Disney’s The Lion King." However, reactions to the costume were mostly negative, with many saying it looked amateurish compared to those worn by other performers. Some even likened it to Sesame Street's Big Bird rather than Simba.

Comments included, "You missed the assignment, this is Big Bird vibes, not Simba," and "This just looks like one of those costumes your Mum throws together the morning of World Book Day because she forgot all about it."

The Hollywood Bowl shows were a collection of songs from the 1994 animated movie and the 2019 remake, rather than a full staging of the Broadway show. Kim Kardashian shared multiple posts celebrating North's performance, which some critics saw as another example of Hollywood nepotism. One user on DailyMail's TikTok account remarked, "If there was ever a time where Kanye needed to rush the stage and grab the mic from someone, this was it," referencing Kanye's infamous interruption of Taylor Swift in 2009.

In addition to Hudson and Irons, North performed alongside Nathan Lane, Billy Eichner, Bradley Gibson, and Jason Weaver. North has previously appeared onstage with her father Kanye, including a performance at the Rolling Loud festival in March.
