However, amidst the acclaim surrounding Kanye's album, potential trouble looms as reports suggest he failed to obtain permission to use a sample from the Backstreet Boys. The controversial rapper teased a song featuring a significant sample of the boy band's 1997 hit at the album launch party. The track, allegedly titled "Everybody," caused a stir not only for its musical content but also for Kanye's unconventional attire – a pointy black cloth hood reminiscent of a Ku Klux Klan uniform.

The song played to an enthusiastic crowd, features what sounds like a modified sample of the Backstreet Boys' single, coupled with additional elements from Ty Dolla Sign. The version played at the launch also includes additional voices covering the chorus, potentially challenging its classification as a sample and raising concerns about potential legal repercussions.
