"The most wonderful thing you could do at any time in your life is have a baby or bring a human being into this world," Barker, 48, told People, recalling his initial "crash course" in parenting. This happened when his stepdaughter, Atiana De La Hoya, entered his life as an infant during his romance with her mother, Shanna Moakler.

Barker has been a father figure to Atiana for nearly her entire 25 years. Though he and Moakler ended their marriage in 2006 and finalized their divorce in 2008, his bond with Atiana has remained strong. The musician also shared that he "learned so much" from the births of his two biological children, 20-year-old son Landon and 18-year-old daughter Alabama, partly because "they were born really close to each other." Despite the 17-year gap since he last had a newborn at home, Barker says, "it's just as good as I remembered it." "I love being a dad," he confessed, calling it his favorite accomplishment and daily joy.

Married to Kardashian for over two years, Barker reminisced about the moment he learned he was expecting Landon. His excitement prompted him to run four miles to the freeway and back, motivated to be the best version of himself for his child. This enthusiasm for fatherhood has stayed with him. The joy of being a dad again is evident in photos shared by him and Kardashian on Instagram. Their son Rocky’s birth was not without challenges; Kardashian underwent emergency fetal surgery due to fluid in Rocky's lungs, resulting in some tense moments that ultimately turned out well.
