Kim Kardashian and ex-husband Kanye West came together on their 10th wedding anniversary to watch their daughter, North West, perform as Young Simba at The Hollywood Bowl, DailyMail.com has exclusively learned.
Exactly ten years after their May 24, 2014 nuptials in Florence, Italy, the former couple reunited on Friday to support their eldest child, 10, as she made her acting debut, which sparked controversy over claims of "nepo baby" casting.

North played Young Simba at The Lion King's 30th anniversary concert in Los Angeles on Friday, May 24, receiving a standing ovation. Kim, 43, filed for divorce from Kanye, 46, in February 2021, with the separation finalized after a contentious battle in November 2022. During their marriage, they welcomed four children together: daughters North, 10, and Chicago, 6, and sons Saint, 8, and Psalm, 5.
Both have moved on romantically—Kim dated comedian Pete Davidson and Odell Beckham Jr., while Kanye married Bianca Censori in December 2022. After a "rocky" period of co-parenting, Kim and Kanye have since learned to put their differences aside for the sake of their family. "Kim and Kanye may not always see eye to eye, but they have managed an amicable relationship based solely on their kids," an insider added. "Kim knows that North has a happy relationship with Bianca [Censori] and that’s all that matters to her. What happens in their personal life is none of her business, just like she knows that Kanye doesn’t pry into her personal life either." Ultimately, the former couple believes they know "what is healthiest when it comes to their children’s lives" and "share a lot of history together and will always be family."
This means they will continue to "attend the same events for their kids or get together." Indeed, on Friday, the exes reunited for North's performance at The Hollywood Bowl. However, the performance prompted a wave of "nepo baby" backlash from critics. While some praised North's role in the live event, others suggested she landed the part because of her famous parents. Insiders revealed that North's high-profile family did influence her casting.

According to sources, the young star didn’t have to "compete against anyone else" for the role, which came about due to her family's ties with the production company behind the event, Fulwell 73 Productions. "The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl and The Kardashians are both produced by the same production company, Fulwell 73 Productions," the insider said. "Gabe Turner, a partner in Fulwell, is also the creative showrunner for The Lion King."
The insider added that North's ability to make headlines was a key factor in her casting. "They were hoping to draw publicity for this, which they did," the source continued. "But North didn’t have to compete against anyone else, and anyone else who would have auditioned would not have gotten it anyway." The source stated: "This is 100 percent the result of her family’s relationship with Disney and Fulwell."

Another insider shared that the family planned to feature the moment in an upcoming episode of their reality show, making the performance a win for everyone involved. "The promise of the moment being shown on the show and to go and be seen everywhere was also a major selling point for having North a part of the festivities," the source stated. "Like everything the Kardashians do, this was well documented and planned. They have to keep the brand somehow."

Meanwhile, the second source explained that North is passionate about acting and music, and her parents are united in supporting her aspirations. "North wants to do music, stage, TV, film, and all different things in entertainment," the insider said. "So every opportunity she gets or is given is all a part of the plan for her to take over Hollywood. As crazy as that might sound, it is one thing that Kim and Kanye can agree on, and they are going to help get her any and all opportunities possible."
