On a recent Sunday, Kim Kardashian, the 42-year-old producer-star of "The Kardashians," proudly unveiled her daughter North West's latest artwork—a painting depicting a serene beach at sunset.
This display of North's creative talents comes two years after a prior instance that led to criticism, where Kim publicly shared artwork created by the then-seven-year-old North. In 2021, Kim shared North's landscape oil painting that featured a mountain range, a river, grassy land, and trees, which drew comparisons to the style of iconic painter Bob Ross. However, some individuals among Kim's vast social media following—totaling 484.8 million followers at the time—questioned North's involvement in the creative process. Accusations ranged from painting by numbers to doubting whether North was the actual artist behind the work.
In response to the skepticism, Kim passionately defended her daughter, emphasizing that North and her best friend were enrolled in a serious oil painting class, where their talents and creativity were being nurtured. Kim urged critics to recognize children's achievements and not diminish their accomplishments with negativity. She concluded her defense with a resounding declaration: "NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!"

Tracy Romulus, the CBO of KKW Brands and an advocate for North's artistic journey, also publicly stood by the young artist. She explained that North and her peers spent extensive periods working on individual paintings, each interpreting their projects in unique ways. Romulus urged detractors to refrain from undermining the abilities of children, emphasizing the importance of encouraging youngsters to dream big and reach their fullest potential.

Even Camryn Frederickson, a TikToker and the daughter of Celeste Astor Frederickson, North and Ryan's art teacher, came forward to share her experience. Camryn revealed that she had learned to paint the same piece from her mother at the age of seven, back in 2006. Celeste is the owner of the "For Art's Sake" studio in Westlake Village, where students frequently paint the same artwork as part of their curriculum.
North West is Kim Kardashian's eldest child, born during her marriage to rapper-designer Kanye West, often referred to as "Ye." Kim and Kanye divorced in 2021, concluding their six-year union. North West, with her striking resemblance to her father, made headlines with her onstage rap debut during Kanye's Yeezy FW/20 presentation at Paris Fashion Week.
