However, during the episode that aired on July 13, Rob's voice was heard as he had a phone conversation with his sister, Khloe Kardashian, discussing plans for their daughter Dream's upcoming birthday party. Despite his absence on camera, Rob appeared to be in good spirits as he helped organize a memorable celebration for his daughter, whom he shares with his ex, Blac Chyna. During a confessional segment, Khloe was asked about the possibility of Rob returning to the show. She candidly shared, "I do think Rob would come back to the show. He talks about it a lot. But I do know that Rob has been through a lot personally.

But he’s literally the best dad I know, and I’m so proud of him for that. I know he’s feeling really good about himself, and I’m happy for him. I have faith that soon he’ll be back on the show." Rob Kardashian was a regular presence on "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" during its early seasons but gradually stepped back from filming. His appearances increased when he began dating Blac Chyna in 2016, and the couple even had their own spin-off series, "Rob & Chyna." However, after their tumultuous breakup, Rob largely disappeared from "KUWTK" once again, with only a few appearances in the final season in 2021.

During the "KUWTK" reunion in 2021, Khloe shed light on Rob's absence, explaining that it was not solely about his physical appearance but also about how he felt internally regarding the women in his life. She suggested that he may have felt used by some individuals to gain access to certain privileges or opportunities. Blac Chyna had previously filed a lawsuit against certain members of the Kardashian family, accusing them of defamation and causing the cancellation of "Rob & Chyna" after its first season. However, the family maintained that the show ended due to Rob and Chyna's breakup. In May 2022, the court ruled in favor of the Kardashians, dismissing Chyna's $100 million lawsuit.
