Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson have recently taken legal action concerning their son.

The former couple filed documents on June 8 to change their son Tatum's last name from Kardashian to Thompson. However, what caught people's attention was the surprising detail in the filings. Both Khloe, aged 38, and Tristan, aged 32, listed the same address on the papers, as reported by US Weekly, who obtained a copy of the documents.
Khloe and the LA Lakers player reside in close proximity to each other. Tristan purchased a house just 0.2 miles away from the home where Khloe lives with their children, True (five years old) and Tatum (11 months old), in the exclusive Hidden Hills area. That's roughly estimated to be around 320 steps, according to Quora. Although they had only recently begun sharing photos of their son, who was born via surrogate in July of the previous year, Khloe posted a picture on May 19 holding the baby on her hip in her kitchen. She was wearing distressed jeans and a T-shirt featuring her sister Kim's image.

During an interview conducted by Kim Kardashian, aged 42, for L'Officiel Italia, Khloe opened up about her experience with surrogacy. Kim, who has two youngest children, Chicago (five years old) and Psalm (three years old), born via surrogate, commended Khloe for being honest about her feelings throughout the surrogacy journey. Kim asked if Khloe would recommend surrogacy to people struggling to conceive. Khloe expressed gratitude for Kim's support and acknowledged that she had learned a lot about surrogacy through her. Due to health concerns, Khloe had opted for surrogacy as she was unable to conceive herself. She explained that her unique situation had created a significant sense of detachment from her son.

At the time, Khloe was still dealing with her breakup with Tristan in December 2021, who had been unfaithful and fathered a child with another woman. She clarified that she did not want to discourage anyone from trying surrogacy but rather aimed to be honest about her personal experience and ensure that others do not feel alone. Khloe emphasized her intention to be vulnerable and transparent, even if it is difficult, in order to let others know that they have someone to rely on and that it is okay to feel a certain way.

The decision to change their son's last name indicates a step towards co-parenting and finding common ground despite their past issues.
