Khloé Kardashian has fired back after being sued by her former assistant for unlawful termination.
In court documents obtained by Us Weekly on May 31, the Good American designer, aged 38, filed a case management statement in the Superior Court of California, denying all claims made against her. Kardashian's statement read, "Defendant also alleges claims based on his alleged termination of employment.
Defendants deny all claims and allegations," while expressing her willingness to undergo mediation to resolve the case. Both parties have agreed to a 30-day extension, allowing Kardashian more time to respond to the initial complaint. She has until June 26 to submit her reply.
Back in February, it was confirmed that Matthew Manhard had sued the reality TV star, alleging that she fired him upon his return to work after a knee injury. Manhard, who worked as a household assistant for Kardashian from January 2019 to November 2022, claimed that Kardashian overloaded him with tasks that interfered with his legally required breaks. He also alleged that she failed to pay him overtime despite working more than 12-hour days.

At the time, Kardashian vehemently denied the allegations, with her legal representative stating, "It's unfortunate to learn that a former employee would choose to go this route. Matthew was properly classified and compensated for his role." The spokesperson added that Manhard had been on an extended "leave of absence" before Kardashian eventually needed to hire a replacement. They concluded, "We will not tolerate false accusations and will prove that this is a frivolous lawsuit."

Kardashian has not addressed the legal battle or provided further information on how she manages her household affairs. She resides in a mansion in Calabasas, California, alongside her mother, Kris Jenner, who also owns a neighboring mansion. The two properties create a compound-like setting, as revealed by Martha Stewart during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in November 2022. Stewart mentioned the extensive features of their homes, including a closet with numerous Hermès pocketbooks and a thorough house tour that she enjoyed.
In 2021, Kardashian and her daughter True moved into their dream residence, initially intending for her ex Tristan Thompson to join them. However, following their breakup amid Thompson's 2021 paternity scandal, he did not move in. It was revealed that Thompson fathered a child named Theo with Maralee Nichols while still in a relationship with Kardashian. Thompson, who is also the father of a son named Prince with ex Jordan Craig, now has his own place nearby.

Despite their separation, a source revealed that Kardashian and Thompson live just 0.2 miles away from each other in Hidden Hills. Thompson is reportedly thrilled about having his own place so close to Kardashian and their children, allowing him to visit them as often as possible.
