The Met Gala 2023 saw an unexpected reunion between former flames Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian.

The Saturday Night Live star and the reality TV mogul crossed paths inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 1, more than eight months after their breakup. Both dressed to impress, Pete donned a Fendi suit while Kim turned heads in a stunning beaded Schiaparelli gown. The two were spotted catching up with fellow guest Usher at the star-studded event, which featured some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment.

The Met Gala holds a special place in the hearts of the former couple, as it's where they first met back in May 2021. In an episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Kim revealed that Pete had been asking around for her number before they met. "He came up to me and we were talking about SNL," she said.

Despite some difficulty in giving Pete her number at the time due to the gloves on her Balenciaga outfit, the pair eventually reconnected in October 2021 when Kim appeared on his NBC sketch comedy show. During the broadcast, they even shared an onscreen kiss, which sparked "a little zing" in Kim's mind. They soon started dating, with Kim admitting that she was drawn to Pete's "BDE," or big dick energy.


Last year, the couple made their debut at the Met Gala in style, with Kim turning heads in Marilyn Monroe's iconic Bob Mackie-designed dress. Their glamorous date night was documented on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, during which they reminisced about their first encounter. "Remember when I asked for your number at the last Met and you pretended that you couldn't give it to me because you had gloves on?" Pete asked, to which Kim replied, "I know. Will you ask me again this time? I don't have gloves on."

However, their romance was short-lived and the two split up in August after nine months of dating. Despite their mutual love and respect for each other, their demanding schedules reportedly made it difficult to maintain their relationship. Since the split, Pete has moved on with his Bodies Bodies Bodies co-star Chase Sui Wonders, while Kim has focused on finishing law school and taking care of her children. During a September appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, she revealed that she's not currently looking for a new romance.

The Met Gala 2023 was a star-studded event filled with fashion icons, A-list celebrities, and unexpected reunions. While Pete and Kim's run-in may have come as a surprise, it was clear that the two still had a lot of respect and admiration for each other. With such a memorable history at the Met Gala, it's possible that we may see the two cross paths again in the future.
