In a comment on Access Hollywood's Instagram post about LuPone's remarks, Stone wrote, "Well…you know…acting. It may not be brain surgery but we do treasure our art. We studied, we suffered, we do suffer for it. Ten thousand hours; it’s a thing." Stone's comment seems to suggest that acting is a serious profession that requires hard work and dedication, and that Kardashian may not have the necessary skills and experience to do the role justice.

LuPone, known for her outspoken nature, had previously expressed her disdain for Kardashian's casting. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, she stated, "Excuse me, excuse me, Kim. You know, what are you doing with your life? Don't get on the stage, Mrs. Worthington." John Leguizamo, who was also present during the interview, echoed her sentiments.

LuPone's comments referenced a 1935 song that featured the lyrics, "Don't put your daughter on the stage, Mrs. Worthington / Don't put your daughter on the stage / The profession is overcrowded." LuPone seems to believe that Kardashian's involvement in the series takes away opportunities from trained actors who have dedicated their lives to the craft.
