Kylie Jenner recently opened up about her approach to parenting her two children, Stormi, 6, and Aire, 2, explaining how she’s raising them differently compared to her sister, Kim Kardashian.

In an interview with *Elle* for the November issue, the 27-year-old influencer shared that she has a strict rule regarding social media: her kids won’t have their own accounts until they’re much older, possibly until they move out. She wants to protect Stormi and Aire from the intense exposure and fast-paced culture of online platforms, something she feels strongly about despite social media being an essential part of her own career.

Kylie’s approach contrasts sharply with her sister Kim’s. Kim, who shares four children with ex-husband Kanye West, allows her two oldest kids, North, 11, and Saint, 8, to have their own social media accounts. North has a highly popular TikTok account with over 19 million followers, while Saint has a budding YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers. Kim’s choice reflects a more lenient approach to online exposure, while Kylie’s decision stems from her desire to protect her children from social media’s potentially overwhelming impact.

“When I do share my children, I want it to come from me or their father,” Kylie explained, expressing her intention to keep their online presence carefully curated. For her, this rule isn’t just about limiting screen time—it’s a way of safeguarding their childhood. Kylie shared that she wants to delay her children’s exposure to social media for as long as possible, preferring to control what is posted about them to ensure they don’t grow up feeling pressured by online personas. She shared a humorous anecdote about how Stormi often comes home knowing entire TikTok dances, despite not having an account. “I’m like, ‘Where did you learn this?’” Kylie laughed, hinting at how kids today still absorb trends even without direct access.

Kylie also spoke about her changing relationship with social media, noting that the fast-paced digital world can be overwhelming, especially as a busy mother and businesswoman. She admitted that it was easier to post frequently when her schedule was less demanding. “I didn’t have an intense schedule. I wasn’t working as much; I didn’t have kids and just had more time,” she said. Now, as she balances motherhood, running Kylie Cosmetics, and other ventures, she finds it increasingly challenging to post content consistently.

“If you’re not posting three times a day on TikTok, you fall behind,” Kylie remarked, shedding light on the pressures influencers face to stay relevant in a constantly evolving digital landscape. Privacy has become more valuable to Kylie over the years, as she’s scaled back her social media presence and kept aspects of her life under wraps. She noted that it’s important to keep some things private, allowing her to enjoy more intimate moments with her family away from the public eye. In recent interviews, Kylie has also been candid about her struggles with postpartum depression after the births of both Stormi and Aire, which may have influenced her more reserved approach. In a previous interview with *Vanity Fair Italy*, Kylie shared advice for new mothers dealing with postpartum depression, reflecting on her experiences with honesty and empathy.

She explained that her first experience was particularly challenging, while the second time was somewhat more manageable, although still difficult. “I would tell those women not to overthink things and to live all the emotions of that moment to the fullest,” she shared. Kylie encouraged new mothers to allow themselves to experience the ups and downs of the transition into motherhood, even if the pain and challenges seem insurmountable at times. She emphasized the importance of staying present in each moment, despite the discomfort or self-doubt that may accompany the postpartum period. “Stay inside that moment, even if it is painful,” Kylie advised, acknowledging that hormonal and emotional shifts during this time can be intense.

However, she reassured other moms that the difficult period is temporary. “In those moments, you think that it will never pass… that you will never be the same,” she said, noting that fears about physical and emotional changes are common. She encouraged mothers to face the transition without fear of what comes next, as doing so allows them to experience the most beautiful moments of motherhood. By sharing her insights on parenting, privacy, and the challenges of early motherhood, Kylie provides a glimpse into her journey, one that resonates with fans and new mothers alike. Her reflections underscore a commitment to raising her children with a sense of balance and intentionality, away from the often overwhelming gaze of social media.
