Kardashian, a devoted mother, shares her children—North, 11; Chicago, six; Saint, eight; and Psalm, five—with her third ex-husband, rapper Kanye West. She is often spotted at Saint's basketball games, supporting his extracurricular activities with enthusiasm. While her laid-back style usually suits the occasion, her recent accessory choice—a large, furry bag—stood out as an eye-catching piece that added a touch of high-fashion eccentricity to her otherwise casual look. Beyond her fashion statement at the game, Kim has been making waves with her advocacy work. Kim's connection to these high-profile legal cases is personal—her late father, Robert Kardashian, was a member of O.J. Simpson's defense team.

Recently, she authored a controversial op-ed calling for the release of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who have been imprisoned for over three decades for the 1989 murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez. Their highly publicized trials, which captivated the nation in the 1990s, were among the first to be broadcast on television, paving the way for media-fueled courtroom spectacles like the O.J. Simpson trial. Now, following in her father’s legal footsteps, Kim has become an outspoken advocate for criminal justice reform. Having passed the California baby bar exam in December 2021, Kim has used her platform to campaign for clemency in cases she believes have been mishandled, including that of the Menendez brothers.

In her op-ed, published by NBC News, Kardashian argued that Lyle and Erik were unfairly convicted, largely due to the exclusion of key evidence during their trial. The brothers have long maintained that they killed their parents after years of sexual, physical, and emotional abuse at the hands of their father, Jose Menendez. However, much of the evidence supporting their abuse claims was ruled inadmissible in court. Kim believes this exclusion, combined with the media frenzy that painted the brothers as spoiled rich kids, led to their unjust conviction. The Menendez brothers' case has resurfaced in public discourse, partly due to Netflix's recent series *Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story*, which has reignited interest in their story.

Kardashian’s op-ed coincided with an announcement from Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon, who revealed that his office is now re-examining the case, particularly new allegations that Jose Menendez molested a former boy band singer in the 1980s. Kim’s advocacy work began with the release of Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother serving a life sentence for a non-violent drug offense. Since then, she has championed prison reform, even visiting the White House to promote the First Step Act. With her growing legal expertise, Kardashian continues to use her platform to fight for those she believes have been wronged by the justice system, while balancing her career, motherhood, and a flair for fashion.
