The 43-year-old reality star and aspiring lawyer shared a video clip of Jassy, who performs under the stage name Dawda, on her Instagram Stories, celebrating his accomplishments and ongoing journey. Kardashian, known for her advocacy in criminal justice reform, has been deeply involved in efforts to support those affected by the justice system.
Her Instagram post highlighted her personal connection with Jassy, whom she met during his time at San Quentin prison. She reflected on her experience with him, stating, "David Jassy also spent 15 years inside San Quentin prison where I got to meet him and spend time with him learning about his music program and Ear Hustle podcast."
Her words conveyed a sense of pride in Jassy's resilience and determination to rebuild his life after years of incarceration. Jassy's journey is remarkable, and Kardashian's public support underscores her commitment to criminal justice reform. She didn't stop at just acknowledging his past; she also celebrated his present success. In a follow-up post, Kardashian praised Jassy's latest musical work, particularly his song "Get Your Number," and offered her heartfelt congratulations.

Her enthusiasm for his achievements is a testament to her belief in second chances and the potential for people to turn their lives around, even after significant challenges. Kardashian's dedication to criminal justice reform is well-documented. In addition to her work supporting individuals like Jassy, she has made significant strides in her legal education. In June, she shared an update with her fans about her ongoing law school journey. Posting a photo of herself studying, she revealed that she was deep into the complex subject of hearsay exceptions, which she admitted is her "least favorite subject."

Despite the challenges, Kardashian remains determined, having already passed California's baby bar exam in 2021 after three attempts. She plans to take the full bar exam in 2025, further solidifying her commitment to using her platform and education to effect change in the legal system. Kardashian's advocacy work gained significant attention when she successfully campaigned for the release of Alice Marie Johnson, a woman sentenced to life in prison for a first-time, nonviolent offense. Johnson's release in June 2018, after 21 years behind bars, marked a major victory in Kardashian's efforts to address injustices within the criminal justice system. More recently, Kardashian has continued her work on a national level.
In April, she visited Vice President Kamala Harris at the White House to discuss criminal pardons, marking her first visit to Capitol Hill during the Biden administration. This meeting followed her earlier collaboration with former President Donald Trump on similar issues. As a result of these efforts, President Biden granted clemency to 16 individuals convicted of nonviolent drug crimes as part of "Second Chance Month," further emphasizing the impact of Kardashian's ongoing advocacy. Through her public support for individuals like David Jassy and her relentless pursuit of criminal justice reform, Kim Kardashian continues to use her influence to advocate for meaningful change.
