Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian both took to Instagram to celebrate and honor Mary Jo 'MJ' Shannon, the family's matriarch, on her 90th birthday.

Their heartfelt tributes were filled with gratitude and admiration for MJ, highlighting her strength and independence. Kris Jenner, affectionately known as the momager, shared a series of photos featuring herself and her mother, both from their earlier years and recent times. In her caption, Kris expressed deep appreciation for her mother, thanking her for teaching her to be a strong, independent woman. She wrote, "Thank you, my beautiful mommy, for teaching me to be a strong, independent woman. Thankful for everything, expecting nothing, but willing to work as hard as I can for everything and at the same time to be kind to everyone and generous beyond measure."
Kris, 68, went on to emphasize how her mother led by example, showcasing resilience and generosity. Kim, 43, wrote, reminiscing about their shared experiences. Kim highlighted the impactful moments they spent together, from summer beach trips to long Sunday talks and tea sessions. She praised MJ for being the best example of strength and independence, noting how inspiring it was to see her grandmother start a business and run a store. Kim also mentioned MJ's incredible resilience, having beaten cancer twice without complaints. "You really have been the best example of strength and independence," Kim wrote.
