Despite their apparent closeness, relationship coach Nicole Moore analyzed a snippet from the show and told Reality Tidbit that an “explosive conflict” might be “down the line.” Hulu’s *The Kardashians* follows Kim Kardashian and her family as they navigate various aspects of their lives, from welcoming new babies to engaging in hilarious pranks and, unfortunately, some physical fights. While the family sometimes argues, relationship expert Nicole Moore tells Reality Tidbit that their “family first” attitude is “commendable.”

Khloé and Kim: Sisters Don’t Do That

In Season 5, Kim and Khloé spend a lot of time together. Despite their special bond, it’s clear that they can sometimes irritate each other. In one scene, when asked if they had “hashed out their differences,” Khloé responded, “Sisters don’t really do that.” Kim added, “Once she starts on a schedule, it’ll be right back in the annoying box in my brain…” Nicole Moore points out that Khloé’s comment isn’t necessarily true for everyone: “It’s interesting that both Kim and Khloé said that ‘sisters don’t really do that’ as they have globalized their own family pattern and assumed that other sisters act that way when it’s not the case. In families where direct communication and a healthy relationship with conflict are a priority, sisters often do hash out their differences and come to a resolution.”

Coping Mechanism to Explosive Conflict

Nicole Moore explains that there might be more to the communication seen in the clip: “The Kardashian family in general seems to operate under the agreement that family is the highest priority. They may have an unspoken rule that getting along with siblings is more important than causing conflict. Kim and Khloé’s avoidance of hashing out issues may be a coping mechanism or an attempt to stay connected because they don’t see a way to hash out their differences without risking losing that family connection.” Moore also suggests that this surface-level peace might lead to future conflicts: “Kim appears to be choosing not-so-quiet contempt for Khloé’s tendencies over direct communication, which might inadvertently lead to an explosive conflict down the road. She mentions putting Khloé’s behavior ‘in the annoying box in my brain,’ which shows that Kim copes with her sister’s differences by attempting to compartmentalize them rather than dealing with them.”

The Result is ‘Fake Acceptance’

While Kim and Khloé seem to get along on *The Kardashians*, Nicole warns that there are better ways to resolve their conflicts. “The sisters do their best to maintain love and connection, which is commendable. However, pushing issues aside and pretending they’re not there doesn’t work because they tend to have screaming matches about their behavior.” Nicole suggests that the sisters should address their issues meaningfully: “It might work better for the Kardashian sisters to attempt to hash out their differences and come to a true acceptance of each other’s behavior rather than a fake acceptance where they seem to get along on the surface but silently judge and get annoyed with each other.” Nicole Moore is a Relationship Expert, Love and Relationship Coach, and Body Language Expert at Love Works.
