While Kim has attended the event in the past with her ex-husband Kanye West, 46, it's notable that he hasn't been present since their split, despite his association with fashion muse Bianca Censori, 29.

Kanye's absence from the Met Gala dates back to 2022 when Anna Wintour, the director of the event, vowed not to collaborate with him following his anti-Semitic remarks. Even prior to that, Kanye had a history of skipping the Met Gala, with his last appearance being in 2019.
Instead of attending the Met Gala this year, Kanye and Bianca were over 2,000 miles away, busy with the process of moving out of their LA mansion. Kim and Kanye's final Met Gala appearance together was in 2019, where Kim dazzled in gold and Kanye opted for a $42 black jacket.

The Met Gala was canceled in 2022 due to Covid, and in 2021, Kim filed for divorce from Kanye citing irreconcilable differences. Notably, at the 2021 Met Gala, Kim made a statement by wearing a black skin-tight suit designed by Balenciaga, a frequent collaborator of Kanye's, completely concealing her face.
Kim's Met Gala journey began in 2013 when she attended heavily pregnant with her first child North, invited as Kanye's plus one. The couple continued to attend together in subsequent years, including just before their lavish Italian wedding in 2014.

Despite the reception, Kim remained composed, later leaving the event in a stylish black leather gown.
