The pop superstar, known for her "Anti-Hero" persona, labeled the venomous rivalry, which peaked in 2016, a "fully manufactured frame job." Swift inadvertently rallied her devoted fanbase, Swifties, to launch a familiar social media campaign against Kardashian over the last few days.

The feud traces back to 2016 when Kanye West released "Famous," featuring vulgar lyrics about Swift that Kardashian claimed the singer had approved. Swift, however, denied these allegations, leading Kardashian to release footage of a conversation in which Swift seemingly approved the controversial lyric, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex." The ensuing social media storm, marked by snake emojis on Swift's pages, symbolized her apparent fall from grace.

By 2020, the full phone call was shared online, revealing that Swift had never approved the specific lyric, "I made that b— famous." This lyric referred to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident when West interrupted Swift's acceptance speech, asserting Beyoncé should have won for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" instead of "You Belong With Me." After an initial apology tour, West shifted his stance, accusing Swift of victimizing herself for fame. Swift, in response to the infamous phone-call footage released by Kardashian, asserted that her continued involvement in the controversy was against her will. In a now-deleted Instagram post, she expressed frustration at being falsely painted as a liar and sought exclusion from the narrative she never asked to be part of since 2009.

In 2017, Swift released the "Reputation" album, delving into her conflict with West. The music video for the album's first single, "Look What You Made Me Do," humorously references her 2016 statement. The entire album oscillates between addressing West's actions and making light of the situation, with snake iconography woven throughout. During her December 6 interview with Time, the "Eras" concert film star revisited the saga, emphasizing that her career was taken away. Swift characterized West and Kardashian's efforts as a "fully manufactured frame job," revealing the ongoing impact of a feud that has transcended years and continues to captivate public attention.
