Khloe Kardashian found herself in hot water as she promoted a contest on social media that left fans skeptical about its legitimacy.
The reality star, 39, took to Instagram to announce a giveaway of several designer products in partnership with PR firm HighKey Clout. However, the contest sparked concerns among her followers, leading many to question whether a winner would genuinely be selected. In her Instagram video, Khloe was seen holding a Birkin bag while surrounded by various high-end products, including bags from Gucci and Louis Vuitton. She enthusiastically told fans, "High Key and I are so excited to be giving away some fabulous prizes. This Birkin bag and all these other prizes could be yours."
Despite her excitement, fans expressed their doubts about the giveaway's authenticity. Many were curious whether anyone had ever won such contests, with one user commenting, "I see these giveaways a lot, I really want to know, does anybody ever win these things?" Another chimed in, saying, "They never post the winner; if the lottery can post the winner, they can too." Several fans expressed their concerns, pointing out that these giveaways never seem to announce or showcase the winners.

Khloe is not the first member of the Kardashian family to face controversy regarding social media giveaways. Last year, her older sister Kim and Scott Disick faced a $40 million lawsuit over their promotion of luxury prizes in 2020, which were allegedly part of a fake lottery scam.

The lawsuit implicated Kim, Scott Disick, and the Australian company Curated, alleging that the giveaway was a front to collect personal information from participants and sell it to advertisers. Originally, winners of the contest were promised $100,000, two first-class tickets to Los Angeles, and a three-night stay in Beverly Hills. However, once the winners were announced, many of their Instagram accounts were abruptly switched from public to private.
While Curated maintained the contest's legitimacy and claimed to have documentation to support their case, the plaintiffs argued that contestants had been inundated with unsolicited and potentially offensive content from advertisers.
The lawsuit also called into question the integrity of Kardashian, Disick, and other celebrities who promoted the contest. It mentioned other stars who used their Instagram accounts for the promotion, including Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian, Sofia Richie, Gretchen Christine Rossi, and Christine Quinn from "Selling Sunset." However, only Kim and Disick were named as defendants in the lawsuit.

The plaintiffs sought more than $20 million each from Kardashian, Disick, and Curated. The legal disputes surrounding the Kardashian family have been ongoing, with Kim facing defamation claims from Blac Chyna, Rob Kardashian's ex, and a trademark lawsuit against her skincare brand, SKKN. These legal matters have added a layer of complexity to the family's already eventful lives.
