The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star sought legal separation in February after right around seven years of marriage. Kim Kardashian West needs what's best for ex Kanye West.

 

Following the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star's separation recording in February, the rapper began dating model Irina Shayk — and agreeing on a source, he has Kardashian's help as the previous couple explores co-parenting their four kids.

 

According to close source of PEOPLE, the source said, "Kim approves of Kanye dating. She simply needs him to be content." The source adds that Kardashian, 40, and West, 44 — who share girls North, 7, and Chicago, 3, just as children Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2 — are centered around their children in the midst of the separation procedures.

 

"Kanye is keeping things neighborly with Kim so the children can be glad," the source says. "They have been getting to know one another as a family."

 

The stars split recently after almost seven years of marriage. At the hour of Kardashian's separation recording, a source disclosed to PEOPLE the two were in arrangement over joint lawful and actual authority and that nor was challenging the prenup set up.

 

West presented a reaction to the separation recording in April and mentioned joint legitimate and actual guardianship of their kids, as per archives recently got by PEOPLE.

 

In June, West and Shayk were spotted together praising his birthday in France. A source disclosed to PEOPLE he had "began seeking after her half a month prior" and that they had likewise hung out in New York City, where she lives.

 

Last week, following reports that they were chilling, a source revealed to PEOPLE that West and Shayk, 35, are "a lot of as yet dating."

 

With respect to Kardashian, a source disclosed to PEOPLE last month that she "needs to date," and "doesn't see herself being single for the remainder of her life."

 

"Her needs are her children and work," the source said. "However, she couldn't want anything more than to discover a person to impart her life to."
