Kourtney Kardashian faced backlash after she shared a snap of herself in a swimsuit on her Instagram handle comparing to herself as ‘Moana of Motunui.’

The POOSH founder, Kourtney Kardashian, 41, is no doubt the queen of the reality show world, but some of her followers on Instagram were not pleased with her comparing to herself a particular Disney princess. The mother-of-three shared a series of pictures to her Instagram handle on Oct. 27, where she stunned in a cheeky black bikini. The snaps were from her sister Kim Kardashian's 40t birthday bash on a tropical private island. “I am Moana of Motunui,” she captioned the post, borrowing a line from the film Moana.

Fans raged with disagreement on the comment section when they read the caption of Kourtney’s post. They called out the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star for referring to herself as the Disney movie's Polynesian princess. “Um… no you’re not lmao not even close,” one user said in the comment section while another user told Kourt, “No you are not. You are White!”

One of the comments read, “nah pls stop appropriating indigenous island culture/ community do better.” Kourt did have to fave backlash for her choice of the caption but besides that many of them left a string of compliments. Some of her fans and friends thought that her photos were straight “fire,” and some even called her a total “babe.”

The character Kourt mentioned in the caption refers to the protagonist of the animated film, Moana. The Disney film shows the adventures of the character which comes to her with her age in her Polynesian village. The film is loved by many audiences, including Kourt and her three kids who are under the age of 11. So Kout might have felt that the caption would be perfect for her post and wore it down.

Kourt's backlash came after her sister Kim Kardashian got the meme treatment from her fans after posting pictures from her 40th birthday trip to a private Tahitian island. The fans from Twitter made it a meme material and referred to the caption using screenshots and photos from Lost, Shutter Island, and even the interactive game “Animal Crossing!”
