The controversial couple Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been married for six years and share four children, but now their future remains unclear.

"The Life Of Pablo" hitmaker Kanye West, 43, has been showing erratic behavior in recent weeks, including disclosure of their deeply personal details. Kanye's and his other half Kim Kardashian, 39, had reunited for the first time after weeks of Kanye's Twitter outburst. In the photos from their reunion, Kim seemed to be torn apart, as she was all teary-eyed and very emotional during their intense conversation.

A source tells PEOPLE exclusively that Kim feels that she has tried everything to save her marriage. "She isn't getting back what she needs from Kanye, she was to the point that she flew to Cody to basically tell him their marriage is over and to say goodbye." said the source. 

"He doesn't seem to get what she is saying," the source said. "He hasn't changed anything that she told him needs to change. Kim is very torn," the source added. "The last thing she wants is to be divorced with four kids. She knows that she will be fine financially, but her concerns are the kids and the partnership. She is moving towards a divorce, but who knows if she will actually sign papers." 

As per the information given by the source Kanye still wants their marriage to work out as he recently has apologized to Kim publicly but hasn't taken any step to repair their fractured relationship. The pair shares four children: daughters North West, 7, and Chicago West, 2 as well as two sons Saint West, 4, and Plasm West who is just 14 months. 

Kanye also launched an unlikely bid for US president which comes amid a new cycle of hid bipolar disorder. The second source told PEOPLE on Wednesday that Kim told Kanye to focus on his mental health instead of the campaign.  

Earlier this month, Kim also publicly addressed her husband's bipolar disorder in a lengthy Instagram story, and asked her fans for "compassion" and acknowledged their "complicated and painful" situation. Kanye has been trying to divorce Kim for a long time after her meeting with Meek Mill.

According to another source, they told PEOPLE that Kim "feels trapped" in her marriage. "She loves Kanye and she thinks of him as the love of her life," said the source. "But she doesn't know what to do."

"Kim knows that it's not healthy for her to be around him now. And it's honestly not healthy for the kids," the source said as Kim returned Los Angeles solo on Tuesday.  "He needs to get his stuff together before he can be any sort of partner or father." Still, no matter what, "Kim wants the best for Kanye," the source said. "And she will always want what's best for him."
