Selena Gomez just recently released her new video 'Boyfriend' and opened up about the thing that inspired her to create the song which was a simple text among her friends.

'Rare' hit maker Selena Gomez, 27 just few days back dropped latest video 'Boyfriend' which is a bonus track from latest album 'Rare' and fans were quiet curious about the who or what inspiration was there behind the making of the song.

Its quiet known to Selena's fans that she has been quiet unlucky over relationship thing over few years. She has been through some tough relationships, especially with her famous ex-boyfriends Justin Bieber and The Weekend. Thus, she had to take major steps for soul searching in the last year or so. Luckily, she grew up from the pain and came out more stronger tha before.

Talking about album to Hollywood Life, Selena tells its all about the trials and tribulations of falling in love. Likewise, it was expected 'Boyfriend' would be one of those type but it takes quiet a turn around when Selena begins to take things a little farther when she starts turning guys into frogs in her new music video... imagine if it were real powers.

Fans were quiet curious about inspiration for the song 'Boyfriend' and specifically wanted to hear about which ex boyfriend it was inspired from. But songwriters Julia Micheals and Justin Tranter gave Apple Music the scope about the song to Micheals candidly recalling the message Gomez sent to them, stating, “Well, it's like I feel like I've covered everything on the album. I was like, I don't know. Life's good. I want a boyfriend. That's about it.' And she's like, 'LOL, whatever. And I come in the studio and that's literally the title.”
