Jesse Lingard, Anthony
Martial and Mason Greenwood also missed the clash at the John Smith's Stadium,
and Alexis Sanchez was forced off with an ankle injury as United's hopes of
finishing in the top four were ended.
Chris Smalling was
back among the substitutes last weekend, after sitting out the draw with Chelsea, but Sergio Romero was unavailable with an injury he sustained in
training so Lee Grant was the back-up keeper to David De Gea.
