North West, the 9-year-old daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, recently paid tribute to Janet Jackson's iconic look in the 1993 film 'Poetic Justice' while giving a shoutout to her mother.

Kim Kardashian, 42, shared photos of North dressed up in braids, a jeweled choker, and a black cap while they were out at dinner on April 16. The photos were captioned, "Poetic Justice," which was a nod to Janet Jackson's character in the film. Despite being born twenty years after the film's release, North seemed to be inspired by Janet Jackson's fashion sense and iconic look.

The girl, who turns 10 in June, appeared uninterested in her mother's attention as she looked off into the distance. North's outfit not only paid homage to Jackson's character but also gave love to her mother and Kim's Marilyn Monroe-inspired campaign with Dolce & Gabbana. For this outing, North wore one of the $195 white D&G t-shirts that depicted Kim as the late Some Like It Hot actress.

The "Ciao, Kim" shirt line features details such as "paparazzi, divas, pasta, pizza, and gelato," according to the designer's store. The black and white portraits show "Kim Kardashian as the absolute star," which is fitting given the reality TV star's massive following and celebrity status.

Interestingly, Blac Chyna, who lost a defamation case against Kim and the rest of the KarJenners, also wore a shirt from the D&G line when she appeared on the Mar. 21 episode of the Why The Game Chose Me podcast. Kim explained that she wore the shirt to support the brand and because it's Dream Kardashian's auntie. Kim's Marilyn Monroe-inspired campaign and her love for the iconic actress's style also coincided with her choice of outfit for the 2022 Met Gala. Kim wore Marilyn's "Happy Birthday, Mister President" gown, which she borrowed from Ripley's Believe It Or Not! museum when walking the red carpet.

She then changed into a replica of the gown for the rest of the night. Kim's Marilyn Monroe fantasy and her fashion choices have gained a lot of attention in recent years, and it's clear that her daughter North is also following in her footsteps.

Despite initial reports claiming that Kim and her sisters were left off the invite list for the 2023 Met Gala, Page Six reported that Kim is set to attend the event on May 1. The theme of this year's gala is "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," which is a tribute to the designer who passed away in 2019 at the age of 85. Given Kim's love for fashion and her ability to make a statement with her outfits, it's likely that she will pull off another fashion stunt at the event.
