Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson has allegedly separated within the last few weeks despite Cody still being 'in love' with the singer. 

Amazing singer and songwriter Miley Cyrus, 27, and Cody Simpson, 23, might be taking "maintaining distance" too seriously! The couple officially split up on August 13 and that happened within the last few weeks according to the information TMZ got from a source. However, the source couldn't provide the reason behind their separation but HollywoodLife has reached out to Miley Cyrus and Cody's representatives for comment. 

Fans have been shocked considering that Miley and Cody were pretty much inseparable and comfortable with each other throughout their quarantine in Los Angeles. What shocks us the most is that Cody confessed him being "in love" with his "best friend" over a photo of him and Miley on his Instagram story. There were no signs indicating trouble for their relationship, they were happy about a month ago when they also filmed a TikTok dance video that went viral on July 5.

The news about their break up arrived just hours before Miley's long-awaited interview aired on the Call Her Daddy podcast. Miley had dropped a bombshell in an interview with Alexandra Cooper on August 13 when a teaser was released. “I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16. But I ended up marrying the guy.” This gave a clear indication that she was talking about her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, with whom she split just after eight months of their marriage in August 2019. 

It didn't take long for both of them to move on to another relationship as Miley was seen making out with Cody in October 2019 and just a week later Cody confirmed while speaking with the HollywoodLife exclusively at Tiffany & Co. Men’s Launch Event that he wasn't single anymore.

"Miley and Cody were previously doing great,  and while quarantine 'has been a real test for relationships' overall, the singers passed with flying colors,” a source close to Miley told HollywoodLife exclusively in May 2020. “It really helps that they aren’t partying so their minds are clear and their moods are stable. They’ve been able to really focus all their energy on positive, healthy stuff,” the insider added. Cody released the music video for his song “Captain’s Dance With The Devil,” during that same month which was directed and styled by Miley.

Meanwhile, Miley's ex-husband Liam was spotted with an Australian model Gabriella Brooks, in Dec. 2019 and they’ve been dating since. “Liam and Gabriella have pretty much spent all of the quarantine together in Australia and it’s been working well for them. She’s very easygoing and loves the relaxed beach life just like Liam,” a friend of Liam’s told HollywoodLife exclusively in August.
